Back from Dixie . . . 1,000 miles and more of back road volition, and nearly as many concerted photographs made. Too many days idle in the safe harbor of home, suburbia, white-washed, where privileged politicking rattles like a relentless paradiddle, from a population’s pulpit that never steps into other’s rings . . . or, maybe just to get away from myself?
Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama. Idleness will kill me in the end.
Editing commence.

Equinox Arrived.
I’ve been loitering a lot in random woods, toeing at the underbrush, seldom stirred enough to make a photograph.
The blacks have to make jazz with the whites. Things are still a bit gray inside.

Happy to have my photopolymer gravure print “Habana Vieja (2018)” featured in the Living Image exhibition. The opening at Halide Project (Philadelphia) is Friday, December 7th, running through January 26th, 2019. Living Image, an internationally juried exhibition, highlights photographers continuing to present work in analog print form. Selections were made by Kat Kiernan, director of Panopticon Gallery (Boston), and editor-in-chief of Don’t Take Pictures magazine. An artist reception will take place December 8th 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Halide Project’s new gallery & darkroom in the Northern Liberties neighborhood is a fantastic space to witness, soon to be equipped with a community darkroom, too. Honored to be in the gallery’s inaugural show, amid the versatile array of artists.
